About

Music belongs to every child.

National Instrument Foundation was founded on a simple observation: instruments sit unused in millions of American closets while children—especially children with learning disabilities—are turned away from music programs that can't afford the gear to include them.

We exist to close that gap. We collect, restore, and re-home musical instruments, with a specific commitment to serving underprivileged students who experience disability, chronic illness, or developmental difference. Music therapy, motor development, identity, confidence, community—these aren't bonuses. They're the point.

And because the donor relationship matters too, we make sure your gift doesn't disappear into a warehouse. You meet the child it goes to. You watch them learn. You receive what no tax form can: a story you helped author.

What we believe

Principle

Access is the artwork.

An instrument in a closet is just a thing. In a child's hands, it's possibility.

Principle

Disability is not a barrier to music.

Adaptive technique, the right matching, and patient teachers make every instrument reachable.

Principle

Donors deserve a relationship.

Generosity grows when you can see what you grew. We close the loop, every time.
